My canvas for food, photography and life.....

I believe that there is a deep association between food and memories.. every recipe has a story behind it...some long..some short..
So grab a cup of coffee, pull a chair and enjoy the little stories that I share with you.....

Strawberries, Cream and My Moment of Zen

"Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love" - Mother Teresa.

Sometimes doing such simple things with great love can be so soul nourishing and satisfying. Nothing can be simpler than cutting the beautiful red strawberries, drizzling them with caster sugar, bottling them and topping with a soft whipped fresh white cream. But such a simple activity can sometimes help you feel the present moment and fill you with wonder. Its the time when your all knowing, cynical Smart Alec self just leaves you for a moment and just lets you be. Its the time that you are so connected with your inner self and no external influence can disscourage you.

When I see such beautiful lush red strawberries, amazing bounties of nature, I experience such innate peace and calm. The same feeling you get when an innocent baby smiles at you. The same feeling you get when you stand in your balcony with a huge cup of coffee and see some children playing cricket in the gully. As if all is well in the world.

Some find it in painting, gardening, photography, playing guitar, etc.. I sometimes find mine in the simplicity of strawberries and cream. Find yours... its worth it!!
